CJ & Melissa Johnson
From an early age I was introduced to vast the variety of music by my mom, who owned and operated a skating rink in St. Louis City. As I grew older I was fascinated with all the variables of music, from charting the top 40 songs each week, which songs were requested more frequently, to which songs were losing popularity. In 1994 I launched my business, focusing on youth and school events but not ready to fully invest in myself or my business. College led to me the night club/bar world and from 1994 to 2003 I experienced and excelled at every role imaginable. From Local Club DJ, Regional Club DJ, Entertainment Director of 3 massive chains (1 that was publicly traded….that was interesting) and finally an owner operator. As many of you know, the Night Club world is a roller coaster of ups and down and unexpected turns in a blink of an eye which always seemed to lead me back to my DJ Business. At each turn I found myself expanding my demand in the private event world but still not convinced to invest in myself.
In 2003 my ah ha moment happened when I became a DAD and from that point on I realized I needed to invest in myself and business because there was more than just me depending on my success. In late 2003 I made the commitment in myself and went 100% full time DJ/Owner/Operator. In 2006 I married my wife, Melissa and we have 2 amazing children Collin (15) and Melody (10). Collin is a talented young hockey player and when he isn’t in school he is probably on a bus heading to another city to play hockey. Melody is a competitive gymnast and dancer but more than anything she’s compassionate beyond her age. Her heart is bigger than most could comprehend and she is known for her handwritten notes of love and encouragement that can make a grown man cry….don’t believe me, ask Mitch Taylor
I’m a regular at regional and national conventions which has blessed me with many lifelong friends I otherwise wouldn’t have. I hope sometime throughout the cruise to spend some time with you and share experiences that help each of us grow.
